๐น Arrow Fest Frenzy Tips: Grow the Swarm, Do the Gate Math & Arrive Huge at the Boss
I went into Arrow Fest Frenzy expecting a relaxing little arrow game โ steer, watch them fly, done. Five minutes later I was doing mental arithmetic at full speed as my swarm raced toward a gate that could double or halve my army. That's the charm of this arrow fest game: a casual crowd-runner on the surface, a maths game underneath. You start every run with just ร10 arrows, and every decision after that either snowballs into a glorious swarm or wrecks it.

Do the gate math before you steer
Every stage throws rows of gates at you, two at a time, and each gate is either a gift or a tax. A + gate adds arrows, a ร gate multiplies them โ usually ร2 โ and a โ gate takes arrows away. Yes, a bad one can empty your swarm completely. The catch is that the right answer changes as your swarm grows. Early on, sitting on ร10 arrows, a +25 gate beats a ร2 gate easily: 35 versus 20. Later, carrying 80 arrows, that same ร2 is worth 80 extra arrows and the +25 looks like pocket change. So my rule is simple โ add early, multiply late. Once your swarm passes 30 or 40, hunt the ร2 gates.
Here's what a few embarrassing deaths taught me: decide before the gates reach you. The swarm scrolls forward at a steady pace, speeding up a little every stage, so if you're still weighing the two gates when they arrive, you've already drifted into one by accident. I pick my side the moment a gate row appears โ a gentle drag, the arrow keys, or the on-screen pad. In this arrow fest game, early steering beats frantic last-second swerves every time.
Blocks only care about one number
Between the gate rows sit the enemy blocks, and they're brutally honest: your swarm has to be bigger than the block's HP, full stop โ equal isn't enough. Smash a block and the arrows it costs you are gone, though you pocket points worth twice its HP. So every block is really a question: can I afford this? A 30 HP block when you're carrying 34 arrows is technically beatable, but you'll walk out with 4 arrows and the next gate row will eat you alive. The smart play is growing bigger two rows earlier. That's why this arrow swarm game rewards planning over bravery โ the block ahead is just the bill for the gates you chose three rows back. Clearing a stage also pays a bonus equal to your surviving swarm.
Mystery gates: fun, but never forced
From stage 3 onward, a โ mystery gate sometimes shows up โ and this is where the game gets properly mischievous. Behind it could be a jackpot (+25 arrows, or your swarm doubled) or a trap (โ10 arrows, or your swarm halved). The important bit: the mystery gate only ever replaces the bad side of a gate pair, so there's always a safe gate sitting right next to it. Nobody forces you to gamble. My approach: if the safe gate is decent, take it. I only roll the dice when the safe option is weak and my swarm can survive the worst outcome โ halving 100 arrows still leaves 50, but halving 14 leaves 7, and 7 arrows smash nothing. Greed is fine; desperate greed is how runs end.
The boss block is the whole run in one number
Every 5th stage ends with a BOSS BLOCK guarding the exit, and it is not messing around โ its HP is set close to what a careful player would have by then, so arrive genuinely huge. Smash it for 500 bonus points plus 12 arrows of salvaged loot, which keeps the run alive. Fall short and the game over screen tells you exactly how many more arrows you needed. The HUD warns you โ "Boss in 2 stages" is your cue to treat every gate like it matters. By the time a multiply gates game like this puts a boss in your path, the ร2 gates aren't a bonus anymore โ they're the whole strategy. One safety net: each run gives one free revive, restoring your swarm to what you started the stage with. Save it for a boss-block heartbreak and you'll walk straight back into the fight.
Six things I wish I'd known before my first boss fight
- Add early, multiply late. Below ~30 arrows, + gates win; above that, ร2 gates win big.
- Pick your gate the moment it appears. Decide early, steer gently, never drift into a gate.
- Never hit a block you can only just beat. Surviving with 4 arrows is worse than it looks โ the next rows will finish you.
- Only gamble on mystery gates from a position of strength. If halving your swarm still leaves you big enough, roll the dice.
- Watch the boss countdown. When the HUD says the boss is 2 stages away, every gate is boss prep.
- Save your one revive for the boss. Dying one arrow short of the boss is when a revive earns its keep.
That's the loop: grow, choose, smash, repeat. And if one idea from all these arrow fest tips is worth keeping, it's this one. This arrow fest game doesn't test your reflexes. It tests whether you can do quick maths under pressure and resist the shiny mystery gate when the safe one is right there. Get that right, arrive at every 5th stage with a swarm that dwarfs the boss block, and you'll see the addiction: ten arrows turning into an unstoppable tide.
